All 18 Apartment Buildings in Kyiv Region restored with support from UNITED24 Donors

The restoration of all 18 apartment buildings in Kyiv region under the Rebuild Ukraine initiative has been completed through joint financing from the state and the UNITED24 fundraising platform.

The final stage included the completion of construction works on six additional buildings in the Irpin, Borodianka, Hostomel, and Dmytrivka communities. These include an apartment building on Myru Street in Irpin, two buildings on Tsentralna Street in Borodianka, a building on Proskurivska Street in Hostomel, as well as buildings on Komarova Street in the village of Myla and Tsentralna Street in the village of Buzova. More than 1,100 people live in these buildings.

Overall, the project covered 18 apartment buildings across Kyiv region that sustained significant damage during the Russian occupation and hostilities. Following the completion of the restoration works, more than 4,000 residents once again have safe and comfortable living conditions in their own homes.

«Thanks to contributions from donors in 140 countries through UNITED24, more than UAH 735 million was raised for the restoration of these buildings. In total, over UAH 860 million was allocated for the project. The completion of the restoration of all 18 buildings means, above all, that thousands of Ukrainians can return to normal life in their own homes. This is the result of the joint efforts of the state, international partners, donors, and everyone who has supported Ukraine» —  said Oleksii Kuleba, Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration of Ukraine – Minister for Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine.

More than 85% of the project's funding was provided by donors from around the world through the UNITED24 platform. Approximately 15% was financed by the Fund for the Elimination of the Consequences of Armed Aggression, while around 2% came from local budgets.

The restoration of apartment buildings is one of the focus areas of UNITED24's «Rebuild Ukraine» initiative, which mobilises international support for restoring housing and critical infrastructure in war-affected communities.

Kyiv region remains one of Ukraine's key recovery regions. Overall, more than 30,000 facilities were damaged or destroyed there, of which around 24,000 (80%) have already been restored. Of the more than 2,100 damaged apartment buildings, approximately 1,700 have been restored, also representing nearly 80% of the total.
